About

Hi! My name is Robert Murrell, and I am a British former expat – I was born in the UK, but spent much of my childhood abroad, in a landlocked African country called Central African Republic. I’ve always had a passion for reading and writing, practically from the moment I could read, and I’ve written a variety of pieces over my life, from book reviews, to personal anecdotes and short stories. My writing career started in earnest when I created a personal blog detailing my experiences as I went through Sixth Form. Seven years (and one MA in Creative Writing) later, I am in the process of writing my first story! Writing is a deeply cathartic and fulfilling experience for me; I enjoy thinking about how things work and imagining how they could work under different circumstances.

Some other things to know about me: I’m profoundly deaf, having been born with a rare condition called CHARGE Syndrome. I love science-fiction and fantasy. And I’m a devout follower of Jesus Christ – but don’t let that alarm you! For Jesus said that His two greatest commands are to love Him, and to love one another – and what sort of Christian would I be if I didn’t follow those most important commands?
